Kalyn Free, candidate for Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District, has announced that her campaign raised more than $155,970 for the Oct. 1- Dec. 31 reporting period of 2003.
Free, a native of Red Oak in Latimer County, is a former district attorney in Pittsburg and Haskell counties.
In comparison, Free has raised more during the last quarter of 2003 than current District 2 Congressman Bra Carson raised during the second halves of 2001 ($130,757) and 1999 ($143,957).
More than half (255) of Free’s 469 contributors are Oklahomans who provided nearly 62% of the total raised from individuals.
Reflecting on the grassroots nature of Free’s campaign -
, 65% of individual donors contributed less than $100.
“This is concrete evidence of the strong support our campaign is receiving throughout eastern Oklahoma. Oklahomans believe in our campaign. They are relying on me to work for better schools, higher paying jobs and affordable health care for our communities,” said Free. “I am humbled by the faith they are placing in me.”
Free received the endorsement of six Oklahoma labor unions at the
Staryy-Oskol, Monday, Feb. 25.
