Social Security should be what its title suggests – security. We should not risk our future with risky privatization schemes. Wall Street money barons are not capable of honorably or honestly investing our retirement money. We read daily about chicanery, theft and insider deals on Wall Street, yet some Republicans are determined to hand our money over to their friends.

I can assure you that in Congress I will do everything in my power to keep Social Security secure. There are families across this nation that have already lost their life savings in the stock market after they were lied to about stocks and the value of companies. We have seen first hand what damage it can do to individuals… why would we put social security and the future of our citizens in that same jeopardy?

For everybody who wants to privatize Social Security, I have one word… Enron.
