Social Security should be what its title suggests – security. We should not risk our future with risky investment scemes. Recent events concerning the Enron scandal and the downturn in the stock market prove that privatizing the Social Security system could result in terrible losses for our people.

While the Social Security system is now strong, we should not use the Social Security surpluses to balance the federal budget.
